Ichiro Returns to Tokyo Dome as MLB Opens Season in Japan
For the fourth time since 1999, Major League Baseball opened the Championship Season at the Tokyo Dome in Japan. This year, the Seattle Mariners and Oakland Athletics travelled to Tokyo for a brief two-game set, March 28 and 29, for the Gloops Japan Opening Series 2012.Game One featured 2010 Cy Young Award winner Felix Hernandez against the Athletics new ace Brandon McCarthy. Both pitchers turned in quality starts as each allowed only one run, but in the end the bullpens ultimately decided the game as the Mariners won in the eleventh inning.
